Isaiah 40:31 “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. they will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

Wow, I really should have made the most of our time together! We came about being roomies because we were both in transitional moments in our life, though different we were exactly what one another needed.

It kinda happened like this at church one night.

“Hi, I’m Kayla.”    “Hi, I am Victoria.”

Me, “Where do you live?”

Her, “Well, I’m looking for a place and roommate.”

Me, “OMG, me too.”

Both, “Let’s be roomies!”

God, “YAY! Mission accomplished”

And scene.

What she taught me was to PERSEVERE! Whether she was working on her blog, her work, school work, singing her heart out, cooking, spending time with her spicy BF, playing her keyboard, or strengthening her gift with the camera. SHE . WAS . GOING . AFTER . IT.

It’s been so amazing to watch her passion for photography just unfold and go from great to…(insert word that’s better than great, but doesn’t have a stopping point or boundaries).

Something I admired so much about my roomie turned friend, is that even 10 years younger than me, she is tough as nails. Tougher than I could imagine myself being now and definitely tougher than I was then. Now, I know you just have to be strong. No other option!

I will never forget this one night earlier this year, me drinking some Bailey’s and coffee (that order/ratio haha) sharing with her about my hopes and dreams for The Makeup Story and her sharing some things from her heart, which she did not see a solution for. Instead of lingering on the challenge that she didn’t see a fix for yet, she started playing her piano and singing worship music. I secretly recorded her singing and playing. At the time I was like, “Someone somewhere needs to sign her, like NOW!!” Her voice is amazing and I hope one day you all can hear it.

I use the word persevere for Victoria because, while learning new things, and growing the talents God has blessed her with, she conquers CF on the regular. She conquers it like it’s nothing and it’s because she knows her God is everything. Thank you for inspiring me to keep going.

I love you.

You are strong AF.
